The Revenge of the Crying Woman (1974) stars Santo and Mantequilla Nápoles. The masked wrestler Santo confronts supernatural danger linked to the legend of La Llorona, the weeping woman. An investigation into mysterious events leads to confrontations that combine folklore, suspense and wrestling action. The film belongs to the distinctive Mexican cycle of horror adventures starring popular ring heroes. The legend of La Llorona supplies a distinctly Mexican supernatural backdrop for the action.
