Babette Goes to War (1959) features Brigitte Bardot and Jacques Charrier. A young Frenchwoman travels to wartime England and becomes involved in a British intelligence plan to undermine German operations. Her resemblance to a woman connected to an enemy officer makes her an unlikely but useful recruit. Brigitte Bardot stars in this World War II comedy, which places espionage and disguise inside a lighthearted adventure. Romantic complications and mistaken identities drive the action as an inexperienced heroine is asked to play a dangerous part.
