Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein (1948) brings Bud Abbott and Lou Costello into the world of Universal's classic monsters. Directed by Charles Barton, the horror comedy follows Chick and Wilbur as they become entangled in a plot involving Count Dracula and Frankenstein's Monster. Bela Lugosi returns as Dracula, Lon Chaney Jr. appears as the Wolf Man, and Glenn Strange portrays the Monster. The film pairs the comedy duo's rapid-fire misunderstandings with familiar Gothic characters and genuine suspense. Its unusual blend of slapstick and monster-movie atmosphere has made it an enduring crossover favorite.
