Behind That Curtain (1929) stars Warner Baxter and Lois Moran. A British detective follows clues in an international murder mystery that crosses several countries and social circles. The investigation reveals carefully concealed relationships and motives. This early sound film includes an appearance by the detective Charlie Chan before the character became the center of a long-running series. Its globe-spanning mystery reflects the fascination with exotic locations in early detective cinema.
